68 year old, Ms Carol A Thompson of Pana Illinois, died Thursday, January, 10, at 7:15 AM in her residence in Pana, Illinois.
A potluck dinner will be held in Carol's memory Friday, January 18, 2013 in the Pana Elks Club, 107 East Second Street. Main dish and dessert will be provided. All are invited to bring a covered dish and remember Carol's life. Inurnment will be at a later date in Dundas Cemetery Dundas, Illinois.
Carol A Thompson was born Wednesday, January 26, 1944, in Decatur the daughter of Glenn E and Neola P (maiden name Tedford) Thompson. The Thompson family moved to Pana in the late 1940's she attended Lowell Elementary School, graduated in 1962 from Pana High School. She was employed with Mallory Timers in Pana, then as a legal secretary in Peoria for many years, she moved to Atlanta Georgia in 1987, returning to Pana in 1996. Upon her return she was employed through Experience Works in Pana, was a former member of Carnegie-Schuyler Library Board, and the City of Pana Zoning Board. She loved quilts and quilting and was an avid photographer.
Carol is survived by her daughter Kathryn (Timothy) Hill-Bascom of Mesa, Arizona, two sons Steve Hill of Riverview, Florida, Ron (Heather) Hill of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and two sisters. Janet (Forrest) Umberger in Carrollton, Georgia, Alice (David) Vaughan in Urbana, Illinois.
