Born in North (or South?) Carolina about 1776/ 7, the second of nine known children of William H. and Mary Welsh Mackey, she married Isaac Casey in South Carolina about 1790/1. They had eight known children.
Isaac moved his farmily from South Carolina to what is now Johnson Co. Illinois in 1816 in a covered wagon.
Their son William had come earlier. Mt. Vernon, IL, county seat of Jefferson County, was established on land William first cleared and claimed. The entire family eventually came to Jefferson County area.
