She married Hugh Frew in Killyleagh, county of Down, Ireland, in 1787. They had three sons, John, James and David. The family sailed from Belfast, Ireland in May 1794, and arrived at Wilmington, Chester County, Pennsylvania in June. After their arrival, she helped support the family by spinning flax on the little wheel. Their youngest son, David, died shortly after arriving in Wilmington. The remainder of the family, along with the family of John Russell, emigrated to Carroll, New York and Conewango, Pennsylvania area.
