AGED CIVIL WAR VETERAN PASSES AWAY
The body of Peter J. Bean, aged 84 years and 5 days, passed through Newcastle last Saturday on the way to Hanover, Kansas, for interment.
Mr. Bean died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Al. Thompson, eight miles southwest of Upton on December 30, 1921, the immediate cause of death being a cancer on the nose, with which he had been afflicted for many years.
Mr. and Mrs. Thompson took the remains to the old home in Kansas and will be absent a week or ten days.
