Major League Baseball Player. Born in Monroe, Louisiana, he made his debut as a right hand pitcher for the Houston Astros on September 29, 1966. In nine seasons with the Astros 1966 to 1974, he pitched two no-hitters against the Atlanta Braves June 18, 1967, against the Cincinnati Reds May 1, 1969 and was a member of the National League All-Star team in 1971. He ended his career 104 games won, 92 lost, 20 shutouts, 2 saves, 1283 strikeouts and a 3.15 earned run average. Wilson was found dead of carbon monoxide poisoning in his Houston, Texas, garage, an apparent suicide. His uniform number 40, was retired by the Astros on April 13, 1975. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
