Susan Juanita Lucas Kiser, 81, of Madison, died Sunday, July 3, 2011, at her residence.
She was born April 7, 1930, in Letcher County, Ky., the daughter of Millard and Fannie Goins Lucas. She was raised near and attended school in Whitesburg, Ky. She moved to Jefferson County in 1963 and worked at Grote Industries for 23 years as an assembler in department 481. She then began private housekeeping for many years. She was a member of Solid Rock Community Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and raising flowers.
She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Wolf of Madison, Debbie Higgins of Canaan and Shannon Hamilton of Deputy; two sons, Kenneth R. Kiser and Keith Kiser, both of Madison; one brother, Millard Lucas of Whitesburg, Ky.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Kiser, whom she married Jan. 22, 1948, and who died July 15, 2010; one daughter, Patricia Van Kiser, who died in 1954; her parents; three brothers, Delmer Lucas, Bennett Lucas and Walter Lucas; four sisters, Lillie Jude, Martha Phillips, Verna Hall and Frona Cook; and one great-granddaughter.
The funeral was at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial was in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
