Fred Beason
Fred Beason, 83, of 2718 S. Main St. died at 10 p.m. Monday in Healthwin
Convalescent Center after a two-month illness. He was a former Sibley Machine
and Foundry Co. employee, retiring in 1956. He was born Jan. 26, 1980 in
Kosciusko County and had lived in South Bend 47 years.
On April 30, 1910 at Warsaw, Ind., he married Odessa Haines who survives, along
with a son, Robert of South Bend, a daughter, Mrs. Walter Hartshorn of Mesa,
Ariz., five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Forest G. Hay and
Son Funeral Home, where services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Keith
Bennett, pastor of the First Brethren Church officiating. Burial will be in
Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Mr. Beason was a member of the Modern Woodmen.
