Robert was born on July 3, 1958 in Brigham City, Utah a son of Robert Lee and LaWanna Gittins Johnston.
He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1976.
Robert served in the Navy. He worked at Thiokol for 10 years and then as a Technical Writer for Scientec, SAIC and Hill Air Force Base.
He enjoyed collecting coins, stamps and books, playing baseball, basketball and cards AND DID WE SAY BOOKS. Robert tutored many students in math ranging from elementary through college level students.
Surviving are his mother, LaWanna Johnston, Brigham City; sisters: Sydneylou J. (Tim) Westbrook, Vinton, VA; Korinne J. Tucker, Brigham City; six nieces and nephews: Megan (Jeff), Kevin, Rebecca, Gary (Cheryl), Jessica and Jake (Lexa).
Preceded in death by his father Bob, brother Donald and nephew Matthew Westbrook.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery with Military Honors Accorded by the Combined Veterans from Box Elder County.
