Robert was the son of Thomas Anthony Follis and Martha "Cole" Barnett/Follis. He had 2 sisters; Mary Ann "Follis" Miller and Ada Mae "Follis" Karnes. Robert also had 3 brothers; Thomas Jefferson, James Owen and Dave Riley Follis. Robert married Annie Elizabeth Williams on November 12, 1893 at Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas. They had 4 children; Cora Mae Follis, John Thomas Follis, Ruby Pearl Follis and Charlie William Follis. In about the year 1904 Robert Annie and their 4 children moved to Kansas where they rented a 160 acre farm and moved into a 3 room sod house. In 1916 another 160 acre farm was bought and it included a practicallly new 5 room house. "Bob" and Annie lived there near Lenora, Norton County, Kansas until Annie's death, then Bob made his home with his daughter Cora at Hiawatha, Kansas until his death.
