Daughter of Thomas Lettice and Ann, who came with her parents to the colonies by way of Holland.
Elizabeth became the wife of William Shurtleff of uncertain ancestry, but certainly a son of the Shiercliffe family from Ecclesfield, North Riding, England. They were married 18 Oct 1655 in Marshfield, Plymouth, Mass at age 19. She and William had two sons, Capt William Shurtleff and Thomas Shurtleff by 1666 when she was pregnant with her third son, Abiel, who was born after his father's death by lightning in the home of John Philips of Marshfield in June 1666.
Secondly, Elizabeth was the wife of Jacob Cooke, son of Francis Cooke from the Mayflower. They were married 18 Nov 1669 in Plymouth, and had a daughter, Sarah, who married Robert Bartlett.
Thirdly, she was the wife of Hugh Cole, married 01 Jan 1689 in Plymouth, and had no children.
Elizabeth was the matriarch of the Shurtleff family in the colonies.
