As an actor, he is best remembered for his films: "Kiss Me Kate" (1953), "My Sister Eileen" (1955) (in a wonderful duo with Tommy Rall), and "The Little Prince" (1974). He was married to actress-dancer Gwen Verdon from 1960 to his death in 1987. He collapsed with a heart attack before going on stage in his play "Sweet Charity" in the National Theatre of Washington.
