Chester Lee Bybee was born in Shell City, Missouri on September 17, 1912. At the age of eight years, the death of his parents, Chet was raised by a sister and other family members. His older sister helped him throught his high school years. Following graduation he went to work for the Dolney Garment Company in Raytown, Missouri.
As WWll began, chet quit his job with the intent of joinging the military. However, because of a hearing problem he was not inducted into the service.
In 1952 he moved to Denver, CO and began working with Dow Chemical Company. In 1957 he met his future wife, Dorothy and they were married on June 28, 1965. In August of 1965 they made their move to Las Vegas, NV and Chet started work in at AGG. He worked until his retirement at age 70 and then continued to do part-time work for AGG as they needed his Expertise.
For those of your who know him, you remember his love for fishing and traveling, He and Dorothy have many memories of trips to Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and other destinations.
Chet was a thoughtful man who always tried to encourage others and enjoyed his involvement in the church and its music. We will miss this man of gentle spirit and infectious smile to cheer us onward through life. May the saints of God come to his aid and may the peace of God comfort his family during this time.
