72 12572 Cst. Peter Seddon Oliver June 22, 1935 - August 19, 1942 Killed in action at Dieppe, France, while serving with the R.C.M.P. Provost Company.

Cst. Oliver joined the Force in 1935. He was also one of the first to join the No. 1 Provost Company in 1939.

He was killed at Dieppe, France during the Dieppe Raid on August 19th 1942 and he is listed as Number 72 in the RCMP's Honour Roll.rcmp crest RIP

The precise location of Cst. Oliver's grave is in the Dieppe Canadian War Cemetery at Row L, #3. His headstone notes he was with the No. 1 Provost Corps, however at the Dieppe Canadian Museum he is listed as being with the No. 2 Provost Corps."

Prior to Peter Oliver participating in the Dieppe Raid he accompanied
General Montgomery's troops on a raid at Dunkirk France. Since 1956 an annual trophy has been awarded in his name to the top cadet at the Canadian Military Police Acadeny located at CFB Borden, Barrie Ontario.
