(Grandma Johnson, as she was called by everyone, was the grandmother of my sister Wanda's son-in-law Jamie "Sonny".)
Ruth Neomia Johnson, 82, of rural Columbus, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at her home, following an illness.
She was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Craig County, Okla., to William David and Matilda Stout Kepner. She was a lifelong resident of southeast Kansas.
She married Claude Johnson on Oct. 10, 1953, at Columbus. He preceded her in death Nov. 30, 1994.
Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker. She also was a Stanley Product representative.
She attended the Baptist church.
Survivors include 11 sons, Ben Oliver Stout of Columbus, George Albert Turnbough of Baxter Springs, Jessie David Turnbough of Wichita, Carl Junior Turnbough of Vinita, Okla., James Elbe Turnbough of Columbus, Conley Jay Turnbough of Vinita, Wama Dean Turnbough of Macksville, Charles Leroy Turnbough of Jay, Okla., Danny Joe Anderson of Parsons, and Donald Leroy Johnson and Mark Franklin Johnson, both of rural Columbus; four daughters, Joyce McKee of North Richland Hills, Texas, Diane Davis of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Kathryn Parise and Patty Ann Stacy, both of Columbus; 46 grandchildren; and 86 great-grandchildren.
