Marceil was born the daughter of Claude and Margaret Knowles Pearson on February 11, 1925 in Newberg, Oregon.

She attended schools in Newberg, and, after graduation from Newberg High School, attended Oregon State University for two years.

On February 17, 1946 Marceil was united in marriage to Benjamin F. Schaad in Newberg. The family moved to McMinnville in 1959, and have lived here since that time.

Marceil was a member of the United Methodist Church of McMinnville, the Order of Eastern Star, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a Scout Den Mother in Dayton and McMinnville, and drove for the American Red Cross McMinville Driving Corps for sixteen years.

Surviving Marceil are: Husband Ben Schaad of McMinnville, Oregon, son Douglas C. Schaad of Seattle, daughter Karen D. Spear of Seattle, brother Cameron R. Pearson of Beaverton, and Grandson Forrest Randall Schaad.

H. Marceil Schaad died on August 17, 1985 at the age of 60 years.
