|Birth: ||Sep. 29, 1919|
|Death: ||Oct. 5, 2005|
Mrs. Juanita M. Rodriguez, age 86, of Austin passed away on October 5, 2005, after having had Alzheimer's since 1997. She was born in Maysfield, Texas to Federico Martinez and Agustina Cruz on September 29, 1919. She was raised by her maternal grand¬mother after her mother died.
She married Alberto H. Rodriguez of Lytton Springs, Texas on June 14, 1935. Her husband predeceased her in 2003. Together they raised six children. She was a wonderful mother who made the best beans, rice, fried chicken, tortillas and pancakes ever cooked. She also enjoyed growing flowers, especially roses and bougainvillas. She took great pride in keeping a neat, clean and pretty house, characteristics which she displayed until her death.
She may have forgotten her children's names, but they knew she still loved them. She never forgot her manners, always saying "Thank you very much" nor did she forget her prayers. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by their six children, Mary, Lionicio, Hope, Juanita, Albert, and Tony; ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great¬great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Hospice Austin, or St. Julia's Catholic Church.
