Wallace, Ann (nee Baudo), earned her eternal reward on Saturday, January 16, 2010. She joins in heaven the love of her life, Frank Pee Wee Wallace, who died in 1979.
ister of Josie Castello and Sam Baudo (Ann Kircher), and the late Dominic Mimi Baudo, Mary Lange, and M. Jane Rogers; sister-in-law of the late Annie Baudo, Leo Lange, Sam Castello, Vincent Rogers, and Marie Baudo. Nananni to twelve nieces and nephews, who she counted and loved as her own, Forrest Woody (Barbara) Lange, Stephanie Stafford, Maria Biaha, Vincent (Lori) Lange, Robert (Casey), Cindy Castello (Steve) Patton, Bridget Rogers (Wes) Yates, Vinnie (Lynda) Rogers, Danny (Tina) Rogers, Sam (Nancy) Baudo Jr., Tony (Cindy) Baudo and Jeff (Caroline) Franz; greataunt to 21; great-great aunt to 5; aunt to Peggy Wallace; cousin and friend to many.
Ann grew up on The Hill and was proud of her Italian heritage. She married Frank Pee Wee Wallace in 1948. Pee Wee, a former prisoner of war, played soccer and was a member of the 1950 World Cup U.S.A. soccer team.
Ann was interviewed for the book and screenplay The Game of Their Lives, and was delighted to be an extra in the movie. Ann was honored when Pee Wee was inducted into The Hill Hall of Fame, which was commemorated by a plaque in front of her family home on Daggett Avenue. Ann loved music and was a talented pianist and accordion player. She enjoyed playing bingo. In recent years, Ann resided at Our Lady of Life Senior Apartments.
Services: Ann generously donated her body for research to St. Louis University School of Medicine. The family will receive visitors at St. Ambrose Church on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 10 a.m., with a memorial Mass celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by CALCATERRA Funeral Home. If desired, memorial con tributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) or to St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
