Egelhoff, Rodger Lee passed away November 26, 2009, at his home in Jerseyville, IL.
He was born in Jerseyville in 1936, son of the late Ralph and Ruth Egelhoff. In 1955 he married the former Ann Morgan Finkeldey in Perryville, MO. He was the father of three children, Judy Beth Egelhoff of Alton, James (Alison) Egelhoff of Virgin Gorda, B.V.I. and Jerry (Linda) Egelhoff of Jerseyville and grandfather to eight grandchildren, Jake and Taylor Egelhoff, Olivia Hammond, Emily, Julia, Mark, Collin and Joshua Egelhoff.
Rodger is also survived by his brother, Tom (Janet) Egelhoff; his sister-in-law, Judy Smith; his brother-in-law, Michael (Mary) Finkeldey; and cousins, Richard (Jane) Egelhoff, Jan Heiderscheid (Ron) Smith and Joseph Mercurio.
Rodger was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Gayle and James Seaton and Ann's parents, Morgan and Juanita Finkeldey. A 1958 University of Missouri-Columbia graduate, Rodger entered the family business, Egelhoff Floral Co., and continued until his retirement in 1998, bringing to a close the company's 70 year history.
Services: Rodger's body has been donated to Washington University Medical School.
Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009, at the ALEXANDER-GUBSER Funeral Home in Jerseyville, visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Flowers are always appreciated or consider the Jersey Community Hospital Foundation, the J.C.H.S. Panther Athletic Club or the Jerseyville Public Library as memorials.
