Marija Eesarek
Birth: unknown
Death: May 11, 1701

Slovenia Folk Figure. She was a woman of about 40 years of age and the mother of six children and also pregnant. She and two other women were accused of witchcraft and put on trial, where they were tortured to get a confession. Their stories are similar to other trials and were more than likely made up to satisfy their tormenters. She was found guilty and sentenced to death even though she was going to have a baby. She was beheaded and then burned but she has the fame of being the last witch officially executed in that reason. She lived and died in the town of Ribnica Slovenia which was then part of the Austrian Empire. (bio by: girlofcelje (inactive))
