EAST PRAIRIE - Eileen Stinnett Burpo, 64, formerly of Charleston, died at 8:36 p.m. Nov. 3, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Oct. 28, 1940, in Tennessee, daughter of the late Ernest B. and Nettie Cleone Lynch Stinnett, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life and retired from Gates Rubber Co. in Charleston. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and had attended the General Baptist Church in Diehlstadt since 1999.
On Dec. 28, 1963, she married Vernon Burpo who preceded her in death in 1965.
Survivors include: one daughter, Cyndi Burpo Hensley; four brothers, William Stinnett, Donald Stinnett, Robert Stinnett and David Stinnett; six sisters, Joyce Hinchey, Oneida Boatwright, Frances Sims, Sue Adank, Wanda McDermott and Janie Bowles; and two grandchildren, Jamie Hensley and Ethan Hensley.
One brother, Earl Stinnett, also preceded her in death.
Visitation was at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services were scheduled. The Rev. Mark Odle, pastor of the Diehlstadt General Baptist Church, and her son-in-law, the Rev. Gordon Adank of Tallahassee, officiated.
Burial followed in the Armer Cemetery.
Her nephews served as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
