Born Wojciech Babicz, in either Laczki Kucharskie (according to the marriage record) or Niedzwiada, Poland.

Son of Wojciech Babicz and Katarzyna Wojcik.

Mr. Babicz was the honorary president of American Relief for Poland organization during World War II. Awarded the Polish government's highest honor, POLONIA RESTITUTA (Polish: Order Odrodzenia Polski), for his charitable work.

In 1966 Mr. Babicz was named Man of the Year by the Polish American Senior Citizens Alliance of Illinois.
