Cartoonist, Illustrator. For over four decades, he was noted for his dry wit in subjects ranging from politics to popular culture. He created nearly 1,000 cartoons and five covers for New Yorker magazine between 1961 and 2006. His work also appeared regularly in Playboy, and in the British humor magazine Punch for 11 years. Handelsman wrote and illustrated several books, among them "Families and How to Survive Them" (1983) and "Life and How to Survive It" (1994).
