Screenwriter. One of the movie industry's most prolific writers, he was blacklisted during Hollywood's anti-communist crusade in the 1950s. He was working at Warner Brothers Studios when fired for being an alleged member of the Communist Party. Gordon continued to work under aliases for years in France and Spain, where he wrote and produced dozens of movies. He didn't receive recognition until 1980, when the Writers Guild of America began restoring credits to blacklisted writers. His films included "Flesh and Fury," "Earth vs. the Flying Saucers," "Escape From San Quentin," "El Cid," "55 Days at Peking," "Battle of the Bulge" and "Day of the Triffids". His last movie, "Surfacing," was made in 1981. He also authored the books, "Hollywood Exile, or How I Learned to Love the Blacklist" (1999) and "The Gordon File: A Screenwriter Recalls Twenty Years of FBI Surveillance" (2004). He died of cancer.  (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
