Birth: 1923
Death: Dec. 2, 2004

Director of Bad Movie Classics. Born Marcus Larry Seale Jr. in Mexia, Texas, orphaned in infancy, he grew up in a Dallas orphans' home, where he developed a love of movies in the facility's theater. He made roughly 30 pictures over four decades, horrifying critics, delighting fans and gratifying financial backers with his one-man, self-described "guerrilla filmmaking." He wrote, directed, produced and edited most of his films, and even photographed and acted in a few. Some of his films included, "Grubstake" (1952), "Free, White and 21" (1963), "The Trial of Lee Harvey Oswald" (1964), "Mars Needs Women," "Curse of the Swamp Creature," "Zontar, the Thing From Venus” (1967) and "Pretty Boy Floyd” (1970). Fascinated with Marilyn Monroe, he made two films about the actress, "Goodbye, Norma Jean" (1976) and "Goodnight, Sweet Marilyn" (1989). Philosophical about his film making reputation, his 1996 autobiography is titled, "It Came From Hunger! Tales of a Cinema Schlockmeister." Death form complications of a collapsed lung in Tucson, Arizona at age 81. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
