Floyd was devoted to his wife, Dorothy. Floyd was lovingly known to his six grandchildren and one great-grandson as "Greendaddy". He has one brother, Elmer Bondy of Clear Lake City, and was preceded in death by his parents. Floyd was born in Tallulah, Louisiana. He proudly served the United states as a Staff Sergeant in World War II in Company C, 275th Infantry Division in France, where he was wounded in action. He was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the European Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Upon his return home, he went to work for Sinclair Oil Company at their Houston Refinery. Forty-six years later, he retired as the Manager of Compounding and Packaging from the same refinery, which was then owned by ARCO. Floyd and Dorothy moved to Midland from Houston In 2002. They were world travelers and their favorite place to travel was Africa, where they loved watching the wildlife together. They attended Christ Church Midland and have been blessed by the fellowship and kindness they found in that body of Christ.
