Walter Urban Phillips
PRINCETON, Ind.-Walter Urban Phillips, 80, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005 at River Oaks Health Campus, in Princeton.
Walter was a lifelong resident of Princeton and graduated from Princeton High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He retired from Potter and Brumfield in 1985. He was a lifelong member of the Hillside United Methodist Church and was a member of Prince Lodge 231.
Walter is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Milt Westlund, of Princeton; his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Keith and Linda Phillips, of Evansville; a sister, Winifred Oing, of Fort Branch; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Jim Wilhite, of Melbourne, Fla.; grandchildren, Amy and Eric Westlund, and Matthew and Lissa Phillips; and several nieces and nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Phillips and his parents, Lester and Ormel Phillips.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005 at the Colvin Funeral Home, in Princeton, with the Rev. Greg Davis officiating. Burial will be at the Walnut Hill Cemetery, in Fort Branch. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. VFW Post 1147 will conduct military graveside services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Princeton Community High School Athletic Dept. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
