Pauline Thacker, 95, of Pettigrew, Arkansas, died November 25, 2009 at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab in Huntsville. She was born April 1, 1914 at Aurora, Arkansas, the daughter of John Dillard and Delia Arkansas Spurlock Jackson. She began as a school teacher at Muddy Gap and Spoke Plant and later managed the lunchroom at the Pettigrew School and raised chickens. She was a faithful beliver in Jesus Christ attending the Saint Paul Bible Church and the Witter Church and a devout Christian. She was an avid gardener and quilter throughout her life. She was the widow of Earnest Artist Thacker who preceded her in death on October 27, 1993. She was also preceded in death by one son, Larry Joe Thacker, one daughter, Janice Ann Thacker, one brother, Olen Jackson and five sisters, Bertha Ledbetter, Madge Taylor, Ethel Jackson, Emo Markham and Bea Cannaday.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Artist Gene and Gwynette Thacker of Pettigrew, Arkansas; one daughter, Arline Franklin of Harrisonville, Missouri; two grandsons, Micah Gene Franklin of Austin, Texas and Derrick Alan Franklin of Sacramento, California; three granddaughters and two grandsons-in-law, Gwyrette and Randy Bodendieck of Independence, Missouri, Anita and Robert Dye of Clay Center, Kansas and Desaray Jeanette Franklin of Sacramento, California; three great-grandsons, Grayson Bodendiect and Brayden Bodendieck, both of Independence, Missouri and Grant Dye of Clay Center, Kansas; and one great-granddaughter, Allyson Dye of Clay Center, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Saturday, November 28, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverends Sam Judd and Robert Creech officiating. Interment will be in the Boston Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Lucas Finn, Jerry Officer, Vern Phipps, Don McSperitt, Mark Willhite and Michael Thacker. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P. M. to 7:00 P. M. on Friday at the funeral home.
