David K. Brenizer is Dead
On last Saturday morning, July 27th., 1895, death removed from our midst Mr. David K. Brenizer, who has been confined to his bed for more than a year.
On May 14th., 1894, Mr. Brenizer was stricken with paralysis of the left side, and since that time has been unable to move himself in bed. At the time of his death he was 73 years, 7 months and 3 days old, having passed the alloted age of of three score years and ten. He was born in Cumberland county, Penn., on December 24th., 1821 and moved to Wayne county, Ohio, in 1831. He was one of the pioneers of Illinois and also of Nebraska, having settled in Stephenson county, Ill., in 1848 and in Otoe county Neb. in 1873. For a number of years past, he has divided his time between his two sons, Mr. E.G. Brenizer of Bennet and Mr. J.G. Brenizer , of this place. Mr. Brenizer was a man very highly respected by everyone and those who knew him best became very much attached to him.
The funeral service was held on Sunday, at 5 o'clock P.M. at the Presbyterian church, Rev. B.H. Hunt of Georgetown preaching the sermon. His son E.G. Brenizer of Bennet and daughters Mrs. W.R. Lohr of Merna and Miss Beth Brenizer of Lincoln, were here at the time. The family and friends have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
In early manhood he was united with the River Brethern church and was still a member at the time of his death.
