Mrs. Lois Jean Blanton Stroup Ivester, 73, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in York, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Newton and Eunice Blanton. She was a member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church in Shelby.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Ronnie Yates Stroup; three sisters, Helen Delbert, Catherine McGinnis and Martha Murray; and three brothers, Howard Blanton, Edward Blanton and Lloyd Blanton.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh Lee Ivester; two sons, Vernon Stroup and significant other, Patsy Whitworth, of Shelby and Douglas Stroup and wife, Alicia, of Grover; a daughter, Renee Belcher and husband, Ronnie, of Shelby; a daughter-in-law, Kay Stroup of Kings Mountain; three sisters, Hazel Bowen and Ruth Green, both of Kings Mountain, and Sue Suggs of Troy; a brother, Garland Blanton of Georgia; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Burial will follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain.
