Major (Ret) Virgil J. Kappas, age 80, passed away May 10, 2009.

MAJ Kappas enlisted in the 38th Signal Company in March 1939. He was inducted into federal service in January 1941. Following his release from active service, he was commissioned in the 138th Signal Battalion in October 1948 and served until his retirement on May 31, 1963.
