Funeral for Kermit Rudolph held Dec. 13
The funeral for Kermit Allen Rudolph, 41, of rural Elk River, was held December 13 at St. John's Lutheran Church of Twin Lakes, officated by the Rev. Charles Wind. Interment was in the church cemetery and pallbearers were Arnold Kreger, Lawrence Kreger, Elroy Olson, Edward Danner, Elton Rudolph Jr, and Daniel Sprengler.
Mr. Rudolph died December 10 at University of Minnesota Hospitals after a long fight against cancer.
He was born in Glencoe, Minn. February 3, 1933, son of Wilhelm Rudolph and Lillie Schumacher. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Carin Lee Rudolph of Elk River; sons, Gerald and Dale and daughters Deborah and Patricia, both of Elk River; 1 sister, Mrs. Elton (Lillian) Sprengler of Fort Dodge, Iowa; and two brothers, Edward of Elk River, and Elton of Monroe, Mich.
His parents preceded him in death.
Kermit was baptized March 5, 1933, in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Glencoe. The family moved to Elk River in 1934. He attended St. John's Lutheran School, Grades 1 through 8, and was confirmed March 30, 1947. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1951 to 1954, and afterward farmed for a number of years in the Elk River area. The last seven years he drove truck in Minneapolis for McLean Trucking Co.
He married Carin Lee Irwin August 8, 1970.
