George Oliver Travis born 8 Sept 1904 in Liberal, Barton, Missouri, married October 6, 1930 in Howard, Kansas to Margie Pauline Thompson. George and Margie adopted 2 children: Charles Thomas born in 1939 and Carol Ann, born in 1947. The entire family was killed on 31 Jan 1953 in a train wreck. The parents are buried beside each other and the children are at their feet. Tommy was buried with the New Testament that was in his shirt pocket, and Carol Ann with her new Christmas doll.
