Charles Ray "Dick" Burge, 80, of Blackshear passed away peacefully Saturday night (October 28, 2006) at his residence after a lengthy illness. Mr. Burge was born in Atlanta, GA and lived with the U.S. Navy for 20 years and then lived in Forest Park, GA for many years and lived in Blackshear for the past 22 years. He was the past owner and operator of Owens Mini Storage and Mack Truck Parts in Blackshear. He was a 20 year U.S. Navy Retiree, 32nd Degree Mason, Member of Fleet Reserve and set-up the Ham Station in Panama.

He is survived by his best friend, Marjorie Burge, Blackshear, two daughters, Phyllis Davenport and Shirley Cole, both of Blackshear, six grandhcildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, two nephews and other cousins and relatives.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 1:00 pm at Parkway Garden Chapel in Forest Park, GA.

The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Parkway Garden Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Satilla, 317 Plant Avenue, Waycross, GA 31501.
