Jerry D. Billings, age 72 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.

Jerry was born August 17, 1937 in Nevada, Iowa, the son of Earl and Edith(Baldwin)Billings. After high school, Jerry served his country in the United States Army from 1954-1956. He married Madilyn(Joyce)Perry on August 17, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa. He spent most of his life living in the Des Moines area. Jerry was a self-employed contractor doing concrete, remodeling, and installation of windows and doors for Sears and Allied. Prior to his retirement, Jerry worked in maintenance for Pilot Truckstop in Des Moines. In his free time Jerry enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his family, and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife Madilyn Billings of Centerville, Iowa; a daughter, Darla Moser of Centerville, Iowa, and son Michael(Angela)Billings of Des Moines, Iowa; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sister, Mary Lou Monteith of Hampton, Iowa, and Helen Nelson of Indianola, Iowa. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Tina Louise Billings; and a brother John Carl McCracken.

According to his wishes, Jerry has been cremated and there will be no funeral services. A memorial has been established in his name.
