GALENA, Ill. - Alvin H. North , 82, of Galena, died at 3:55 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Stephenson Nursing Center, Freeport. Private family services will be held Tuesday at Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Galena, with Pastor Tim Ahrenholtz officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena. He was born on Nov. 27, 1924, in Dubuque, son of Henry and Rosina (Weik) North. He farmed in rural Galena his entire life. He loved hunting, fishing and being around animals. He was preceded in death by his parents.
