ATKINS, MR. CHARLES (CHARLIE) EDWARD - age 62 of Brookside, Alabama, formerly of Luttrell, Tennessee, passed away at 2 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2005 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mossy Atkins; brothers, Roy Atkins and Fred Atkins; and sister Edith Hughes.
Mr. Atkins is survived by his wife, Rhonda Simmons Atkins; sons, Charles E. “Chuck” Atkins, II of Washington D.C., Jimmy Walters and Billy (Suzanna) Walters both of Atlanta, Georgia, Brett (Lori) Simmons of Brookside, Alabama and Brian Simmons of Alebester, Alabama; daughters, Kimberly Trentham (Robert “Bob”) Trentham of Jefferson City and Jennifer (Roger) Ogle of Knoxville; brother, William “Bill” Atkins of Luttrell; grandchildren, Heath and Shannon Trentham, Morgan, Samantha and Mandy Ogle, Derrick and Jason Simmons; sister-in-law, Helen Atkins of Corryton, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 12 noon till 2 p.m. Friday with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. Ailor Chapel, Rev. Joe Sexton and Rev. Jason Dunlap officiating. Interment in Kelly Cemetery with military honors by U. S. Marine Corps Honor Guard. Ailor Mortuary, Maynardville.
