Wes was trained as a mechanical engineer at Carnegie Mellon University(formerly Carnegie Institute of Technology). He was employed as an engineer at Westinghouse Airbrake Co., WABCO's Airbrake, Industrial Products, and Leroi Division located in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Ohio. He obtained patents for pneumatic and hydraulic devices for aircraft and marine vessels. He also invented an anti-skid control for aircraft landing wheels. He left WABCO to join Champion Pneumatic Machinery Co. in Princeton, IL where he was CEO and President. He retired in 1988.
During retirement, Wes and Lois enjoyed their summer home on Fisher Lake in Wisconsin and their winter home in Naples, Florida. He will be missed by many friends in Mercer, Wisconsin and Naples, Florida.
Wes served in the US Navy during WWII from 1944-1946. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #14, F and A. M. in Troy, Ohio, and the American Legion Post 424 in Mercer, Wisconsin.
