She was the daughter of John Keller Moore and wife Frances Independence Garrison.She was born in Cherokee County, Georgia.

She married Lewis Pinkney Brooks on October 13, 1872 in Cherokee County, Georgia. They settled in Young County, Texas on land bordering the Brazos River and raised their family in a rock house which still stands just south of this cemetery. Seven children lived to adulthood; Preston, Edna, Ethel, Alverse, Retta, Lewis and Bessie.

Cinnie was always of a calm,easy disposition ministering to the sick or needy, oftentimes leaving her home in the dead of night to answer a summons.
