KISMET Mary E. Lewis, 82, died Saturday, May 13, 2006, at Liberal Good Samaritan Center.
She was born Feb. 13, 1924, to Floyd Rollin and Mary Mabel (Morris) Fellers in rural Kismet.
She married Edgar D. Lewis March 29, 1945, in Kismet. He died Oct. 24, 1993.
She graduated from Kismet High School in 1942.
She was a homemaker and a co-owner of E&M Grocery from July 1, 1974, to Feb. 1, 1986.
She was a member of the Kismet United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Kismet Senior Center and the VFW Auxiliary of Hugoton. She also served as the first woman on the Kismet City Council for two years.
She is survived by three sons, Larry Lewis and wife, Nancy, Hugoton, Richard Lewis and wife, Deb, Cimarron, and Rodney Lewis and wife, Susan, Kismet; seven grandchildren, Tanya Lewis, Marsha Lazcano, Arron Lewis, Monica Lewis, Kelly Lewis, Bradley Lewis and Elizabeth Lewis; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruby Lewis, Liberal.
She was also preceded in death by nine brothers, Archie, Glen, Ted, Bill, Carl, John, Leslie, Lloyd and Floyd Fellers; and one sister, Onie Parnell.
* Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kismet United Methodist Church with Pastor Terry Mayhew presiding.
Burial will be at Kismet Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today with the family present to greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
