Theofilokitis Panagopoulos emigrated around 1905 from Greece to the USA. He had brothers Gus (George?) and Christos Demetrios. The latter changed his name to Charles Baney, Theofilokitis to Phillip Goplus.

On 13 October 1913 Phillip Goplus married at the age of 22 years in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois the one year younger Anna Lloyd.

On 12 April 1912 they had in Chicago daughter Alice and on 23 March 1917 daughter Jeanette.

On 4 June 1917 the four were living at 10724 Edbrooke Avenue in Chicago, Philip Goplus (born on 9 January 1891 in Thejaby [??], Greece, painter at Chi.
