GREENSBORO, NC — Joe Montford Bruner Jr., 83, of Greensboro, died Monday June 18, 2007, at Beacon Place.
A memorial service was held 2 pm Thursday, June 21, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church Chapel.
Joe Bruner was born October 31, 1923, in Cleveland, NC.
He served as a fighter pilot in the US Army Air Corp during World War II flying the P-51 Mustang in the Burma/China Theater. He subsequently served for many years in the US Air Force Reserve.
He graduated from Davidson College with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry.
Joe worked for over 40 years for Coca-Cola, most recently as vice-president of production.
Joe was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro, and on the board of directors of Fellowship Hall of Greensboro for 20 years.
Joe is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nell E. Bruner of Greensboro; daughter, Susan Bradner (Ken) of Dunlap, TN; son, Joseph E. Bruner (Betty Schadle) of Randleman, NC; sister, Katherine B. Graham of Winston-Salem; and grandchildren, Mathew Bradner, John Bradner, Amy B. Rodriguez (Charly), and Bo Bruner (Brooke).
