Opal (Wright) Springer was the daughter of James Pleasant "Ples" Wright and Sarah Elizabeth Flood. She grew up in the Oto Community of Stone County. On October 18, 1924, she and Ralph Springer were married by M. M . Cobb, JP in Stone County. For a brief time in the late 1920's - early 1930's they lived in the state of Washington. During her lifetime, Opal worked as a cook in the Hurley schools and also in the egg processing factory in Marionville. She was the mother of four sons. After retirement she and Ralph moved to Aurora, Missouri, where she was living when she died.
