Frank Joseph Aiello
Frank J. Aiello passed away September 25, 2002 at Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch, born August 22, 1918. He was a native and longtime resident of Pittsburg. He's been an Antioch resident for the past 30 years.
He was one of thirteen children born to Guisseppe and Rosa Aiello who came to Pittsburg from Isola de Femminne, Sicily. In his early years he fished commercially in local and Alaska waters. He was also the owner and chef of The Driftwood Restaurant in Pittsburg. He was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation, Sons of Italy, Italian American Club, and was active in local politics. He was a great story teller and an avid football fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife Vera M. Aiello and son Joseph Aiello.
He is survived by his daughter Carla Visendi and son-in-law Peter Visendi; grandchildren Julie Ottati, Lisa Visendi, Joseph Aiello; and great grandchildren Joseph and Dominic Ottati.
Visitation will be Monday, September 30, 2002 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Mass will be held Monday, October 1, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church in Antioch. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch.
