Born Aug. 19, 1928 in Caldwell County, she was the daughter of the late Walter M. Killian and Essie Osborne Killian.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde J. Barger; and her brothers and sisters.
She was a very active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hickory and was a teacher's assistant at Mtn. View School. She enjoyed teaching and loved working with the children. She was also a volunteer at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. She greatly loved her neighbors.
She is survived by her son, Walter Bryan Barger and wife, Elisa of Winston-Salem; and her well loved granddog, Elton Barger.
