Arlene Marie Hoffman, 85, of Vernon, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Summit Regional Medical Center. She was born May 1, 1924, at Racine, Wisconsin, the daughter of Viggo and Esther Helding. She was raised and attended school in Racine.
She was Married to Leo Hoffman on January 31, 1942, in Racine. They moved to California in 1954 and to Mesa in 1973. They came to Vernon in 1978. She was a lifelong homemaker and enjoyed dolls, crocheting and rock hunting. She was loved by all who knew her and she was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Constance McGurl of Vernon and Susan Rhoads of Kingman; two sons, Leon Hoffman of Mesa and William Hoffman of Gilbert; a sister, Janet Wrazel of Fresno, California; a grand daughter, Tammra Fuessel of Mesa; six grand sons, Michael Does of Australia; Richard Rhoads of Valdosta, Georgia; Cameron Rhoads of Kingman; Daniel Rhoads of Reno, Nevada; Steven Hoffman of Gilbert; Paul Hoffman, of Gilbert; seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. Thursday in the Chapel of Blacks Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday in the chapel of Blacks Mortuary with Deacon John Heal officiating. Burial will follow at Show Low Cemetery.
