Clifton's parents were Jonah F. Nichols Jonah's Death Certificate and Hulda Ison Nichols. His Father passed in 1948 and Mother in 1966.
Funeral services for Mr. Clifton E. "Nick" Nichols, age 69, who passed away Wednesday evening at the Tucson Medical Center, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday in Caldwell's "Chapel of the Valley", with Bishop Verele I. Palmer officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow in the family plot in the Thatcher Cemetery.
Mr. Nichols was born and reared in Clifton graduating from Clifton High School in 1929. He worked numberous years in the Phelps-Dodge Mining Corp. before moving to Globe where he worked for Miami Copper Co. In 1947 he began working for El Paso Natural Gas. Co. as a heavy Equipment operator. He was working as a Clerk for El Paso Natural Gas at the time of his retirement in 1975.
He is survived by his wife Lucille of Thatcher, a daughter Mrs. Elda Lou Allred and two grandchildren also of Thatcher, a brother John R. "Jack" Nichols of Morenci and a sister Aletha Bly of Thatcher.
Friends may call after 3:00 P.M., Sunday and from 8:00 A.M., Monday at the Caldwell Funeral Home at Safford.
