Raymond "Bud" Ferriegel died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at the age of 63.

He was born April 20, 1941 in Seattle, Washington. Bud, as he was know to all who knew and loved him, lived in Prescott until the age of 10 and moved with his parents, Bill and Mary Ferriegel, to Durango, Colorado where his father started his own business, Bill Ferriegel Painting.

At the age of 19, Bud enlisted in the U.S. Army and served two years in Korea and afterwards six years in the active reserve. After an honorable discharge from the Army in 1962, the Ferriegel family moved to Holbrook where Bud and his father continued the painting business. Bud also worked for Beck Brothers Furniture in Holbrook for seven years while also serving as a volunteer firefighter for the Holbrook Fire Department.

When Bud's father retired in 1976, he started his own painting business, Bud Ferriegel Painting, which serviced the residences and businesses of Holbrook, Winslow and the surrounding areas until recently when his health would not allow it. One of Bud's favorite sayings was "If I can't do it right, I won't do it at all." He took great pride in all of his work and enjoyed pleasing all his customers. He and his wife Shirley are members of the Church of Christ in Holbrook and worship there regularly.

Bud is survived by his wife, Shirley Loree Ferriegel of Holbrook; one son Gordie Ferriegel (Sunny) of Holbrook; grandson, Ronnie Ferriegel of Phoenix; his daughter, Barbara Nagle (Shane) of Mesa; brother Bill Ferriegel (Beverly) of Alamogordo, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.

Owens Mortuary of Holbrook is handled the arrangements.
