George enlisted into the United States Marine Corp on July 30, 1917, at Fort Crockett Galveston Texas.

George's death certificate states that he died from influenza, apparently a victim of the 1918=1919 Flu pandemic, which disproportionately killed more young people between the ages of 20-40.

He was single and was the son of Charles Axel and Sarah Ann (Lancaster) Lindblom.
