Beulah Estelle Thomas Phillips was born in Red Apple, Marshall County, Alabama. Her father, Eddy Greene Thomas, was born in Jackson County, Georgia; her mother, Ella A. Liverett Thomas, born in Alabama. Her husband, James Jackson "Jack" or "J.J." Phillips, was a farmer; they owned their land and home. She worked at the Dwight Textile Mill in Alabama City, Etowah County, for many years. Their home was in Attalla. She was a wonderful cook and didn't mind my calling every Fall for her pumpkin pie recipe. Her homemade mac 'n cheese puts to shame the boxed stuff today. She was a kind person, to the core. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Jack, and a baby daughter, Gladis; survived by eight children. Beulah has five siblings: Lillie Effie, Carrie, Della, Arrie, and Arvis (Infant).
Beulah's mother, Ella, died 24 Jan 1902. Her father then married his 2nd wife, Nora Cordile Glenn Thomas. From that union Beulah gained seven half-siblings: Leonard Ray David, Nola Clifford, Ida Bell, Myrtie G, Homer B, Grace T, and Gordon T.
