Arthur James Adams, 77, Atoka, died December 1, 1991 at Atoka Memorial Hospital.

A veteran of World War II, he was born
September 7, 1914 at Vian, Oklahoma, and was the son of John Adams and Elva Edwards Adams.

He was a retired sawmill worker. He was married to Lucille Dawson in Uno, Arkansas on December 27, 1937.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Adams, Harvey Adams and Jackie Adams.

Services will be held Wednesday, December 4 at 2 p.m. at the Atoka Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Johnson officiating.

Burial will be in the Caney Cemetery under the direction of Atoka Funeral Home.

Survivors include two sons, James Adams, Dallas, Texas; and Donald Adams, Talihina,Ok.,two daughters Geri Tillman of Galena, Mo., and Virginia Verni of San Jose, Ca., 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bill Adams,Charlie Adams, & Johnny Adams all of Grubbs, Ark., and a sister Ruby Whitney of Cash Ark.

He was also a life member of Disabled American Veterans.
